Why start from Rijeka Crnojevića, not Virpazar?
Most Skadar Lake boat trips leave from Virpazar. Ours start in the old river village of Rijeka Crnojevića, and the river is the best part.
A river canyon before the lake
The Crnojević river winds between steep green hills before it opens onto Skadar Lake. You see the canyon first, then the open water.
Home of the Pavlova Strana bend
The horseshoe river bend on Montenegro’s postcards is on this side of the lake, between Rijeka Crnojevića and the open water.
A quieter place to start
Virpazar is the lake's busy main harbour. Rijeka Crnojevića is a small stone village with an old bridge and free parking at the pier.

Spring birds and fresh green
Nesting season on the lake. Herons, cormorants and pelicans are busy, the hills are green and the water is calm.
Peak season
June – August
Warm water and lilies in bloom
Long sunny days, water lilies flowering across the shallows and the warmest water for a swim stop.
September – October
Golden reeds and quiet days
Softer light, golden reeds and fewer visitors, with migrating birds passing through.
Tip: early morning and late afternoon usually bring the calmest water and the softest light. Mention your preferred time in the WhatsApp message.

Per boat. The boat is private, so only your group is on board, and the price doesn't change with the number of guests.
Choose a tour, a date and the number of guests, then tap “Check on WhatsApp”. The message is written for you, just press send and Captain Duško confirms availability in the chat. Prefer a calendar? Use “Book online” to pick a time slot. Please book at least 24 hours ahead, or 48 hours for the Full 67 km Lake Circuit.
No deposit or prepayment is needed. You pay the captain on the day of the tour, in cash (euros).
Tours run in light rain and the captain decides on the day whether it's safe. If we cancel because of storms or strong wind, you choose a free new date or a full refund. You can also cancel for free up to 24 hours before your tour.
Yes, children are welcome. The price is per boat, so children don't cost extra (they count towards the seats). Life jackets are provided for all passengers; tell us your children's ages when you book so the right sizes are on board. Children up to 15 also enter the National Park for free.
The Full 67 km Lake Circuit and Dodoši — Forgotten Village both include a swim stop.
No. The Skadar Lake National Park fee is €5 per person per day (2026) and is paid separately from the boat price. Children up to 15 enter free.
Every tour is private, from 1 guest upwards. Our boats seat 6 to 10 guests (The Amazon route takes up to 9). For bigger groups we arrange a second boat, so just tell us your group size in the message.
Rijeka Crnojevića is about 50 minutes' drive from Kotor or Budva, 25 minutes from Podgorica and 20 from Cetinje, with free parking at the pier.
